WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers has named Brock R. Landry, a Washington attorney, as its outside general counsel. Landry is a partner in the law firm of Venable Baetjer Howard and Civiletti.

Landry has focused on trade association law for more than 25 years, and has expertise in non-profit taxation, internal governance, anti-trust and regulatory issues. Landry is a frequent speaker before industry groups and trade associations.

In announcing the appointment, ACB President Diane M. Casey said, "As outside general counsel, Brock brings to the job a broad range of experience in representing trade associations. His participation in numerous industry coalitions will make him an invaluable asset in augmenting the work of our in-house corporate counsel by providing general legal advice and handling litigation."

With more than 350 lawyers, Venable represents individual and corporate clients nationally and internationally. The firm’s Financial Services Group has a strong, diversified financial institutions practice, including the new world of Internet banking, and has been an innovator in the formation of unitary thrift holding companies.

America’s Community Bankers is the national trade association committed to shaping the future of banking by being the innovative industry leader strengthening the competitive position of community banks. To learn more about ACB, visit www.AmericasCommunityBankers.com.
