WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers has urged all members of the House Banking Committee to report H.R. 4209 as a "clean" bill without amendment. The bill would allow the Federal Reserve Board to pay interest to banks and thrifts on sterile reserves.

In letters to committee members in advance of the markup scheduled for Wednesday, ACB said: "We strongly urge the committee to approve H.R. 4209 on its own merits and without amendment."

A copy of the letter to committee members is linked.
