WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers announced today that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Barlow Research Associates, Minneapolis, to help members expand their relationships with small business clients. ACB is the national trade group for community banks. Barlow is one of the nation’s premier market research firms.

“Barlow specializes in helping financial institutions understand their small business clients,” said Robert Seiwert, ACB’s senior vice president for commercial banking. “Our strategic alliance will enable ACB members to tap into the ‘voice of the small business customer.'”

ACB members will have access to the key findings of Barlow’s annual small business research study and its quarterly surveys of the small business banking market on ACB’s website in the “members only” commercial banking area. First Friday webcasts — 60-minute discussions of interest on the small business market — and Analyst’s Journal articles — in-depth reviews of current trends in the small business market — will also be available through ACB’s website, along with Barlow’s staffing and product propensity models and a tool to evaluate Internet banking.

“The typical small business uses seven financial products and offers significant profit opportunity for the community bank, ” said John Barlow, president of Barlow Research. “We are identifying best practices based on customer evaluations and preferences that will help ACB members build their competitive advantage.”

America’s Community Bankers is the national trade association committed to shaping the future of banking by being the innovative industry leader strengthening the competitive position of community banks. To learn more about ACB, visit www.AmericasCommunityBankers.com.
