(Click image to view it larger)
On July 21, the Class of 2006 completed the requirements for graduation from ACB’s National School of Banking, a graduate-level program of bank management. Laura Hudson, VP and Marketing Officer, Kennebec Savings Bank, Augusta, ME, received the Chairman’s Award for the most outstanding graduate in academics, leadership and spirit. Gary Dubrow, SVP and Deputy General Counsel, Acacia Federal Savings Bank, Falls Church, VA, led his class academically. ACB congratulates all of the graduates, their sponsoring institutions and families. Click here for more information.

ACB’s five major schools for employees of community banks focus on the technical and management development of specialists and officers. Programs are offered at locations throughout the country, as well as through webcasts and teleconferences.

For senior executives, the Seminar for Presidents and the Senior Leadership Institute focus on critical management and strategic issues facing the leaders of the community banking industry.

The National School of Banking concentrates on expanding the perspective of the department or division manager preparing them to be an effective member of the senior management team. This program has been recommended for 21 graduate credits by the American Council on Education.

ACB’s Executive MBA for Bankers
In 1999, ACB launched the first and only Executive MBA offering to help community banks develop and retain key staff. ACB has added enhancements, joining with a leading graduate business school in designing a unique, accredited MBA program. This course of studies combines the industry-specific content of ACB’s National School of Banking with the global strategic, operational, economic and leadership curriculum of the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).

ACB’s School of Financial Management offers over 30 live workshops for managers exploring the fields of management, regulatory compliance, residential mortgage, consumer, and commercial lending, trust services, and asset and liability management.  Trustees’ and directors’ workshops are conducted in conjunction with the Annual Convention and as day-long retreats to cover selected areas of corporate governance (in partnership with the National Association of Corporate Directors).

Recognizing that members’ resources are limited, ACB sponsored its School of E-Learning through an alliance with Center for Financial Training-Atlantic States to reduce training expenses and time out of office, while increasing accessibility. For information on this school, email Gloria Becker at [email protected].

InfoPipelines deliver cutting-edge information on regulatory and legislative issues affecting the business of community banking. These 2-hour distance learning workshops are delivered straight to your desk through an effective combination of telephone conferencing and internet webcast.
